Emotional Intelligence

With Michael Carolan

Before you interact with others (be they family members, colleagues or clients) and hope to have positive outcomes from those interactions, you need to identify your own emotional strengths and weaknesses. Once you have done this, you can then determine how best to communicate with others.

Emotional intelligence (EQ) involves our ability to understand, express, and control our own emotions but also relates to the capacity to understand, interpret and respond to the feelings of others. It is the intelligent use of emotions.

Many people confuse EQ and IQ. EQ or Emotional Quotient refers to a person’s ability to understand his/her emotion along with the other person’s emotions, where IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient and indicates a person’s intelligence level. This session will look at how to best focus on using EQ to your advantage.
